my gidget spotted a rattler but i didn't want to move it to the trail for pics since i had all 3 dogs with me so you'll just have to take my word for it that it was very pretty and pretty grumpy

i also found this lovely gopher snake:

you can just barely see it in this one. mollie wanted to be carried so bad that she didn't even notice the 4.5 foot snake she was almost standing on

i also found this cute little alligator lizard right near the gopher

when we got home, i let all 3 outside and was getting myself something to drink when i heard gidget outside barking at something. it was a new kind of bark that i hadn't heard from her before so i went to check it out. she had this little guy trapped under a little weed in the middle of a brick patio and was trying to sniff him. i took him inside for a couple pis and let him go through the fence... i doubt he'll be back

Those alligator lizards, man... they don't wanna let go. X-D

We had a gopher snake once and we still don't know where it got to. It escaped the tank and was never found.
