i went to moon rocks and the summit today. we only found 3 snakes and only got a pic of 1. we found a ringneck and a mating pair of cali kings but the ringneck and the female king slipped away

here's the male almost ready to shed.

i found this velvet ant under a log(they sting, right?)

my herpin' hound found this little guy

i also took a few picks of stuff i found at my buddies house




lots of these little guys




we'll actually find a zonata or crotalus next time [/url]

next time he's gonna come down here. i doubt we'll find a zonata but i'm pretty confident of our chances with the rattlers and gophers

Hey you didnt happen to keep that velvet ant did you? I have no idea what species it is but my insect guide doesn't list any that should be in this area i could be wrong but I would love to see one in person to photograph!!
