I've been posting for a few months, but I figured I'd actually introduce myself here before Saturday. My real name is Peter, and I've always loved tarantulas (and had one as a kid... but that just didn't work out). I won a little G.rosea in the raffle at the Spring meeting - I told my then-girlfriend, whose idea it was that we go to the meeting, that if I won the raffle, I'd go home with a spider, but if I didn't, I wouldn't. We went across the street to eat, came back, were just about to leave, and my name got called! And that was that. Now I'm totally addicted.
A few months later, I got a greenbottle blue, and will be picking up a B.emilia at the meeting, plus... ?? I can't stop!
To paraphrase W.C. Fields: about my girlfriend, "she drove me to tarantulas... it's the one thing I'm indebted to her for."
Lookin' forward to putting faces to the names on Saturday!

Indeed! I reckon I met Dee Casey already, as it was she who gave me some G.rosea advice at the time, and maybe Edgar, too. Is the guy with the big huge nasty scorpions on this forum? I will never forget watching when some guy with his kid came up and asked, "of course, you've removed their stingers, right?" and whomever this was at the table said, "what, these?" and shoved his hand into a nest of scorps and pulled one out with his hand, by the tail. I think the color drained from dad's face.
By the way.. it's really Peter, not Dave. But south bay radio listeners might get the pseudonym reference...........

Oops sorry, second time I have confused names this week. Oh, there is no telling what I will call everyone on Saturday.
I believe you may have met Dee and her husband Sean.
Edgar was with them at the table as well. Edgar is actually Dee's and Sean's adopted son.
