went on a critter walk today

we found:

1 yellow eyed ensatina
2 alligator lizards(1 baby, 1 adult)
3 ringneck snakes
2 wood rats
1 fence lizard
1 coyote

and, the piece de resistance... a mating pair of rubber boas!

unfortunately, i left my camera in the car so i have no pics except the boas which i will post later as they are acclimating themselves to their new home right now

Bad Skippy! You must always bring the camera! We'll decide your "pun"ishment later. What a great day outside. Bugs everywhere.

i went and got the camera out of the car:

male & female

male & female on the bed so you can see the size difference

the girl is less squirmy

you can see a little battle scarring on her neck here

Nice find.  You'll probably spoil them.
darth skippy

i'm hoping to spoil their babies

i'm going to give them a week to acclimate before i try to feed them but i'm looking forward to working with them.

OMG.  I had Poison Oak once for  3 month once. It would not go away. Noting helped!!! I finally went to do some research online and found Zanfel on the internet, it went away within two days.

Great finds, Skippy.

Sorry to hear about the poison oak.

Luckily it doesn't affect me. One of the beneficial mutations that makes me even more amazing. lol

Seriously, though flipping a pair of mating Charina is a very nice find.

Nice job!
darth skippy

we were very proud.

as a bonus, the male ate a pinkie yesterday!

i usually don't get it too bad as long as i get home in time to take a shower but that branch whipped me good and even though i washed it as well as i could...
