Lony and I went to visit Fred at Stanford yesterday. He had just been moved to the ICU after his bone marrow transplant because of fluids accumulating in his body. He looks good considering what he's going through and although tired and uncomfortable, seems to be in good spirits. Lony and I presented him with a framed newspaper article about SF Bats with all the officer's signatures on it and he was very impressed with it!

It was very nice to be able to visit with Fred.
I do have to say that Stanford is a great hospital. The visiting hours where over but they let us in anyway.

Fred is in very good hands and has a nurse around the clock.

I really encourage people to visit him if you guys can. He needs all the support he can get.

We need to go back soon. The time went by way to fast for me. I could have stayed all day.

I will probably be going to visit Fred again this weekend. If anyone would like to join me you are more than welcome. Fred needs to know we are still thinking about him and show him our support! He is living in an apartment now close to the hospital where he still has daily appointments. He might be able to go home sometime in November depending on how he is doing.
Please consider buying something from his price list to help out. Fred and family are wracked with bills and daily expenses are high. Thanks!
