I'm helping out with the Tolay festival in Petaluma this year. I made a cool roach display for them. They're going to have a bunch of really neat bugs and T's to look at, a swamp display and tons of animals. You should come check it out!

I delivered 3 of my T's yesterday to display and Barbie showed me around. They even have a live jellyfish tank! Very cool. Barbie also brought a cage with at least 10 rattlers in it. I saw Rachel's Tiger hisser display, very nice! Ken even has a bunch of his giant scorpions with a black light overhead. Speaking of overhead, there's barn owl up in the rafters keeping an eye on everything...

I went on Sunday and was very impressed. This festival was very well set up for kids with seed spitting contests, candle making and other crafts, hay rides and a hay maze. Barbie was very popular here with young and old alike and the live exhibits were very crowded with enthusiastic onlookers. Barbie asked if more of our BATS members could be involved next year.... I think it's a cool idea! It would be another way for more people to know about us.

I've already spoken to the program manager for Regional Parks, as she wanted Sonoma Co. Reptile Rescue there this year. We weren't able to fit it in the schedule this year, but we will be there next year. I can be liason for SFBATS, too, if you guys want me to ask her if she'd like us to be there as a group. I'm sure we could have some really cool displays. I've got some questions about how they ran things this year (operations-wise), but I'll have more info in a few weeks. Let me know what you all think. :D

oh i like the bat. i always thought bats were cool. i know there are some flying around here outside.
