SFBATS/SCABIES 2008 CA Camping Trip!?

scabies wants to do some camping trips

*i* want to camp where we can catch Calisoga longitarus... which means heading to northern CA

it seems like scabies and the bats should take the opportunity to do a joint event!

i am still researching the range of C. longitarus and what camp areas would not present legal hiccups for collecting.

tentatively... Spring 2008?

i think there is a pretty big meeting in central CA once a year... if it is in spring maybe we could make *our* camping trip temporally adjacent to that central CA thing and do both?

check out the scabies forum's thread for the latest info

What about Joshua Tree down near Nevada? Aside from the sky falling down, I'm sure we'd find tons of inverts, it is the middle of the desert!

i want to go camping where it is red on this map =P

Gray Spray indicates counties species could be in. (i.e. surrounded on two sides by red counties, etc)
Red Spray indicates counties C. longitarsus is present in.
Red Dots indicate an actual site they have been spotted/collected at.

"MAYBE: Butte, Yuba, Sutter, Sacramento"

FYI You have to call ahead and get a guide for the Buttes.  It is COMPLETELY fenced by private property and government and they're pretty damn active out there too.  My bf and I headed up there to camp and discovered all this after a 3 hour drive.  Too busy to trespass before dark too although they do look AMAZING.
