Thanks! The bat looks a little weird to me in #4. I'm going to re-do that one I think. :-)

All four look good, but my favorite is #4.

Is it possible to use a real T as in the Center instead of a graphic?
I think that would bring out the logo much more.
I agree the bat needs to stand out more as well. Other than that I love that one a lot.

Here are a few variations on #4. I can add a little more detail to the tarantula, but I think we should try to keep it simple since this logo will be very tiny on business cards and things. Maybe if we chose a tarantula with distinct markings like a b. smithi or something. Or we can just keep it solid. I changed the bat and gave the T a bigger bottom (it was lookin a bit too skinny) :-D

Can you try #5 without the flying bats and change the SFBATS to white like in #7? Could you also try a couple of them in a oval shape? This way it would make for a good embroidered patch and give you more room to enlarge the GG Bridge.

I realized the sfbats inside the ovals would be a bit small, I'll see if I can think of somewhere else to put it or enlarge it a little.

I like #10, but without the bat imposed over the tarantula. I love the bats in the border.

I also like #6 and #7.

My kids (if you want a younger person's perspective) like #6 and #10.

My problem is I like all of them! lol

My husband suggests taking out some of the info for the actual logo -- keep it simpler. He thinks it would be better without the sfbats.org on the logo. That part could be on other stuff.

I think instead of the spider web, perhaps we could have the GG Bridge cables in the background to represent the SF bay area. I just know some smart ass is gonna say tarantulas aren't orb weavers or something like that.

i really like #9 but w/o the SFBATS,SFBATS.org, and the bat in the middle w/o that i think it's simple, catchy, and worthy.

I like #5 without the flying bats. The logo SFBATS should be in red not black. It needs to stand out.

i like the off center SF BATS of 15, but the design of 16 & 17. i'll call that my final vote.

I like the oval shape and location of the word SFBAT of #15 and the center graphic of #13. Got any hair left Rachel?

Oh yeah! I forgot I was going to do some like that. The problem with that one though is if the spider is big in the center, it covers up the bridge too much so it's not as recognizable. So I think with that design, the spidy would have to be on the side somewhere like this.

#18 looks a little too red- maybe change the color of the word SFBATS and/or the land mass to black ?

so far #18 is still my fav. black SF BATS text red bridge.
i had to edit one of the posted ones, no layers on my end, doing what i can do to make it look sorta right

i kinda like the round ones w/o the bat at the bottom. here's another hack job of an edit of mine.. (the SF BATS at the bottom i would ideally be moved up, but this is just to show what round is like)

My favorites are 16 and 17, although I might make the letters SFBATS a little bit smaller.

Fred's version would work for me. Or Brian's version of 21, with the colors on 21 reversed.

I like the the designs with the webs, but it seems like everyone wants the bridge in it. My personal take is the bridge is too busy, and too hard to fit the tarantula in. And the tarantula is the most important part. It would almost work without ANY bridge or web. Just the T and the name. Those are the critical elements. IMO. lol

Yes I think I like 16 as well. The problem with using the bridge is it gets too cluttered and theres no way to make it look good with the tarantula it seems.
This could be our main logo we're voting on in the upcoming poll but does it have to be our only one?
If its possible to have a choice then everybody's happy :wink:

i don't mind #16, just i think the SF BATS should be smaller, and also off center like in #15.

Haha! Good ideas everyone. I will do some more designs on Monday. We can definitely keep going till we get a winner...
As for the spidy on the bridge, it doesn't look good with a big spider in the middle of it, like people said it covers the bridge too much and gets a little cluttered. I can do some completely different ones too, these were just my first few ideas.

i made some edits on 28.. maybe it'll get some other minds working.. i think it actually looks much cleaner without the text background, but was too open, so i added that enclosing circle to keep it together (hope that makes sense)

trying out some other colors besides the two we've seen so far..

i'm and A's fan and this is giants colors.. but it still ends up looking good.

this one is just red bridge black spider..

i just made this one and think it looks nice too..

little flair of the SF graffiti kinda style too it..

If I had to pick one, I would choose #29. I like the open circle and its not as cluttered as some of the others.
We can definitely try different colors though. I know we've used red and black since the beginning but we can see if we like something better. I thought we might do that after we have chosen a design though just to make it a bit less complicated. :-D
Should we keep going with designs? Or vote on the last few?

#29 would look great as a letterhead. It IS getting hard to choose! But if there was a gun to my head I'd go with 29 or 31.
