San Jose Reptile ShowSan Jose Reptile Show!
Who's going?I'm going on Saturday Nov. 3rd and I live in Napa so I can pick up two people if they can chip in a little for gas and bridge fare. I'll be going by way of Vallejo, Concord, Oakland and Fremont. I also like to go early to be there when they open at 10 am. Hopefully there will be other SF BATS members there so we can discuss our January meeting. Be there or be square!

Hi All,
I had a great time yesterday at the show.I wish that i had more time to shop/look and the $$$ to go with it.Ken and i did a trade and I got a A.anax F from him, too.I picked up my P.platus from Chris at Krazy8's that i prepaid for and it looks awesome.
We did have a SFBATS business meeting in the midst of alot of noise.Everyone that attended put in some really good ideas and input..I'll sit down this week and put it all together and then I'll email you for your final thoughts for our meetings and events for the year.Which the schedule can be somewhat flexible.Ifyou have any other ideas, please send them in to me or John
We want to thank Paul Novak for stopping by and leaving us with enough Tiger Rump slings where everyone got some.Awesome Dude!!
We all got to meet Bay Lee (Lonnie) in person and she was fun to talk to and is definately a tarantula hobbyist. We want to welcome Chris, a newcomer to our group who has alot of good things he brought to the table, including a whole bunch of new T's that he purchased yesterday.
Well, I have to go and put my new spiders away and start feeding the rest of them.it takes me a couple of hours or more depending how much I get involved with them.

Well, I went to the SJ show yesterday and it was a blast! I got a nice female T. blondi from Ken and some blue seemani slings from Keaton. I met up with several other SF Bats members and we had ourselves a "business meeting", talking about stuff we want to do and here's a pic of everybody who could make it. Standing in the back is P. Novak with 2 friends on the left, and Chris(PhormictopusMan) on the right. Seated counterclockwise from the left is me, John(Uglykid2), Fred(sntcruzan), Kalena, Keaton(Okitasoshi), Cheryl and Lony(Bay Lee)
Not present at the meeting because they were working is Ken(KenthebugGuy) and Georgie(The Bug Guy'sWife) with lots of great things at their tables.

She says,"Don't bother me, I'm eating!" She sure has changed hands a lot in the past few weeks. Hopefully she'll like it here in Napa, lol.

Hey All,
I had a wonderful time and great to finally meet you all. It was a good meeting and I am looking forward to the e-mail.
Great pictures and thank you again for the Tiger Rump that was a very nice surprise. Mine shared a pinhead cricket last night, cut in half. One even gave me a “baby threat”… as a thank you…lol. I meant to bring my camera as well but forgot, well next time.

had a great time guys, thanks again for the MM Parahybana John, I just set him up in a cage, and am going to fill my female up, and with those Laterallis you gave me, it should be long.
I also wish I saved my money from buying a P. Ornata and Gravid B,Jacksoni scorpion and bought Ken's A.Minatrix, but unfortunately I saw it after i bought my other stuff and didn't have enough money for her.
I'll see you guys in January! and John I'll let you know how the mating goes.

I wanted to go but I didn't feel like coming all the way from Sac... :P Anyways I think I got 3 of those tiger rumps anyways, my friend Sharon (pitbulllady on arachnoboards) bought me a large blue-phase female seemani for my birthday and she came with 3 tiger rump slings. Sharon said she got them from someone named Paul and our Paul is the first person I thought it might be. I gave them each a piece of a small cricket, hope they eat okay. I wasn't prepared to handle such tiny slings or I woulda bought some from Ken at the Sac show.
Anyways I do hope to see you guys in January. :)

What works great for me is to cut a small cricket in half and feed the fresh dead cricket to the sling. Mine came running over from the other side and just went for the feast. I was amazed at that size how they can attack it and even move the dead cricket.

Actually, 2 of the 3 slings just up and died overnight last night. :( And the third hasn't touched his cricket piece. Maybe I'll lose him too, I dunno. I did mist their containers and everything, some babies just don't make it.

Are you feeding the slings pinhead size crickets? they love those.

Everyone in town was out. I gave them chopped-up small crix.

I only misted just a small amount a quarter of the sub and left 3/4 of the rest sub dry, this way they have a choice where they like to stay.
Yes pinheads should work.
Good luck.. I hope your little one will make it.
