I had a swell time today, and can't believe I went home with three spiders. I won a teeeeeeny little B.smithi _and_ a B.vagans, and bought a B.emilia from Fred via John. I guess you could say I had a Brachypelma day.

Very happy to meet Lony, Laurie, Rachel, John and everyone else. I managed to squeeze off only a few photos, at tragically lo-res (in error).

And my friend Chris went home with a B.vagans - his first tarantula. And his wife is not going to be happy about it.

And I think my favorite thing was this crazy water dish FULL of legs and body parts (at Ken's table)!

And my greenbottle blue was so happy to show off her new dress when I came home that I gave her a reward...

To all SFBATS members who made it to the summer bash. I would just like to thank everybody for making us feel so much at home and for being so friendly! Cheryl (notice it's a C, Lony) and I had such a WONDERFUL time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We look forward to future meetings and outings. I will post my pictures, shortly.

My collection grew substantially. I purchased 6 T's and won a Haplopelma albostriatum (Thai Zebra) from the raffle. Thanks Laurie for donating it as Cheryl had cut me off from puchasing any more. Nothing like sneaking in a freebie. Here are my pics. I thought I had taken more but with all the excitement of my first meeting, this is it. Special thanks to: Laurie, Lony, Rachel, John, Ken, Kyle (my new son--long story), and Skippy (and anyone I may have forgotten) for making it so enjoyable.

One more special thanks to Melissa who donated the 4 flying horses for the auction, which I won, with the proceeds going to Fred. We love them! You all should have bid, you missed out on some cool flying horses and made it easy for me.

Thanks for the pic's Laurie. Looks like the lighting was set wrong. I can still make everyone out.

I was trying to asked John about the G. for Fred. I had to repeat myself three times, it was too loud for John to hear me.

and of course, I had to see what Ken had. I picked up two more of these tailless whipscorpions, which are like aliens and very cool.

Plus a bunch of roaches I bought from Miguel. Thanks, Miguel! AND a bunch more roaches that John brought for me! Thanks, John...I have happy dragons now! LOL

EGAD! I was captured in a photo! AAHHH!!!! LOL

I feel really bad. I wanted to stay & hang out longer but my boyfriend's sister was in town & she REALLY wanted to have us all go to San Francisco.

Hence also why we arrived so early. I was kind of annoyed that we couldn't stay long & more people were coming! *sad*

So sorry about that! =( But hopefully next meeting I can stay longer (I'll chase company away lol)
