P. rufilata Stridulate.Did you know P. rufilata stridulate? This is so interesting I'm posting it on ATS too. I went to rehome my 4.5" female and she immediately took the starfish pose with her two fronts in the air waving those and her pedipals while stridulating her chilcherae to create a hissing/rattling sound. It was the most fascinating thing. I didn't use my fingers to touch her though, just gently coaxed her with my 12" tongs. No striking either.

Actually I think all Pokies can. You just have to REALLY piss em' off though. My P. miranda did it to me once, the best I could describe the sound was take two marbles and rub them together slowly with lots of force and that is what it sounded like. (Very different sound when compared to T. blondi and other "hissers").

I know they do it when they're mad but tarantulas do it so rarely that I feel rewarded, like they feel comfortable enough to really display all they've got
