NBHS meetingHey, who all is going to the meeting tomorrow?
Here's the meeting info:

This meeting is a potluck --please bring a dish to share.
We would also like to have a raffle and/or a silent auction
at both this meeting and the next one. Items for the raffle/silent auction
can be herp-related (tanks, equipment, books, toys, etc.) or other items you
think club members might be interested in.

So John, Lony and Edgar are ridin with me tomorrow?
You want to meet at my house 7pm?
|
llamamama
|
Please bring them with you so they don't get lost! :D
We won't have a guest speaker this meeting, just a potluck social and we have a member who's bound and determined to do the silent auction thing, even though we aren't really ready for it. But we can definitely do some sort of raffle.
Next month's meeting is a dessert potluck and silent auction.
I'm jazzed that SFBATS folks are coming!

Edgar and I will meet you all at Al's house. I got the directions, we are good to go.

Ok kewl! See you there then!

|
Hey, what about me? :-?
|
llamamama
|
If any of you need directions, call Al at 707-829-8152 or call me on my cell at 707-364-3147.
Since we don't have a guest speaker, we won't have a serious start time, but we will need to end by 9:30 so we can clean up and return Al's garage to him.
See ya tomorrow!

Lony & EdgarHey, what happened to you guys? Everything ok?
|
UglyKid2

Thanks, Rachel for taking me out there, I woulda never found the place. :-? I had a great time, there was lots of great food, great people and great animals. Al showed me around the place and Laurie flirted with me nonstop!
Here's a few pics I took...
Greenbottle blue
Rachel picked up a nice rubber boa from Laurie
She was sure happy to get this little one
Just a part of Al's collection of heads

I did *not* flirt non-stop with you! Not to say that I wouldn't, but I was too busy. I will take good care of the Aphonopelma that got left behind. Although Al did tell me to say "New River? What New River Aphonopelma? John didn't leave any T's here!"
By the way, for anyone who doesn't already know this, I am not *that* tall in real life. I was standing on a step stool when John took the picture. The photo of the Greenbottle Blue looks great. Nice photography -- you guys are going to motivate me to learn to use my camera properly!
Hopefully, our Christmas dessert potluck next month will be a little more organized. Today I had time limitations and couldn't get there early. The rest of my crew was too busy socializing to get it together.
So what happened to Edgar and Lony? Did they get lost in the dark?

Lost in SebastopolI am so sorry!
Well so much for depending on my high tech GPS on my phone.
We got very close to Sebastopol when my phone battery died. I thought I had my charger with me, but come to find out I had left it at home.
We drove into Sebastopol and I was hoping for some good fortune to find Al’s house, but without any luck. I remembered Gravensteins Hwy. We must have searched for about an hour or so, hoping to see lots of cars parked in front of a house or a bright house, but no such luck.
I made a few wrong turns and got lost and finally had to asked someone who was walking his dog, so he told us how to get back to the main road. I remember driving on Ludwig and Liano, or something like that. The fact that it was dark did not help the matter.
Edgar then suggested to drive back home. I guess he was getting frustrated with me. I felt so bad! I am very sorry Edgar, you will get free P. platyommas slings when I breed my female.
In Petaluma we stopped at a Dennis, because we were hungry.
I suggested the two pies I had brought, but Edgar did not look to happy. lol
It looks like we really missed out. I am so bummed! Next time I will get Google directions, have my Cell phone charger and a compass with me.
Count me in for December…

So sorry you guys got lost. It can be a tricky place to find. You can ride with me next time or follow me there. Hope to see you two at the next one :-(

Here are a few pics I took last night:

That's not what happend. What can I say? It was dark, it was getting late, the music was playing on the radio, I was looking totally studly and I'd just combed my eyebrows.
I showed her a cool magic trick and it was over...yeah....she put the moves on me.
We went to Denny's, alright. Let me just say four words...
Hot Cocoa and Cream

Rachel, if you ever get bored of your Charina, you know where to send him :D

Man that GTP looks extreamly dehydrated.....
as for Edgar i warned everyone he's a dangerous man watch your wives, daughters, dogs, any herps, and t's for that matter actually the least ammount of contact with this man the better i belive he's on the FBI's most wanted list
|
llamamama
|
LOL! The Charina has to go back to Al if she doesn't want it. Somehow though, I don't think Rachel will get bored with it.
The GTP is a rescue. It has been going through stages where it looks great and then it looks like crap. Right now it's in one of those yucky stages. I'm actually thinking of moving it here where it will get more one-on-one care. Not that I want to get particularly one-on-one with it, since it's got typical GTP attitude.
Edgar doesn't scare me -- when you consider the company I keep, I'm not fazed at all.

Aww, I could never get tired of my little rubber boa. I'm pretty sure it's a female. She's just too cool! I may even get my husband to hold her sometime. He's a lil afraid of snakes.
:D

NBHS meetingHere's what the Green Tree Python in Rachel's photos looks like as of today. Making progress. :D

Whoa, that looks much better!
|

I thought so! :D

My photos didn't come out very well. I need a decent camera. Here are a few that might be worth sharing. It was fun seeing everyone there and meeting you, Laurie. I was mostly shy and tightlipped, though.
I'm shy.

Nice pics as usual Edgar! It is so much fun hanging out at Al's place and I look forward to the next meeting.

I LOVE that place! Next time I'll be sure to charge my camera batteries before I go :-P
That was the first time I saw the stuffed lion and bear. That was neat.

Great photos, Lony. I had to single this one out. Can you identify each species?
|
UglyKid2

Great pics Lony! Except for the one of me in the garage I look like I just found out my mother-in-law is coming to visit again.
Nice job on the slide show, I especially liked all the pics taken in the "bear room"

Awesome pics! I'm going to steal some of those for my facebook page

Did you mean the BATS or the ungulates?

The BATS of course.

Well, it wouldn't be fair of me to answer the question, would it?

ROFL! Edgar, what *have* I done to offend you? Are you not getting enough attention? Must be that P. canderides attitude coming out! LOL
Lony, nice job on the photos, and creative answer! Too bad Fred and Ken weren't there.
|
EdgarOrtega
|
See. :-P
Yes, we'll need a group shot of everyone on Sat.
I'll try to procure the video camera, too, to film for an SFBATS promo video, so everyone wear socks and smiles! I want footage of every last one of you. You're all gonna be internet superstars.
|
BayLee
|
lol yeah the color scheme goes good with those species, doesn't it?
|
EdgarOrtega
|
Next meeting is Tuesday Jan 27, yes?
|
llamamama
|
Yes. The next meeting will be Jan. 27th at 7:30, at Reptile Rescue.
|
EdgarOrtega
|
Anyone ever do a presentation on Northern California native species? That would be fun to do.
|
llamamama
|
All the time for schools. lol
Are you volunteering to do one for the meeting? I'll take you up on it if you are!
|
EdgarOrtega
|
Yes, I meant for the meetings. Yeah, that sounds like something I could do. I can put together lots of slides on my fancy Mac, if you have a projector and screen worthy of my photos.
I wouldn't mind having a broad selection of live species representatives for people to see as well. I'll see what I can do, if you're serious.
Shoot me some potential dates for the year.
|
llamamama
|
Will get dates for you later today -- I've got a parrot on my arm and am typing one-handed at the moment.
