So I've been using coco-earth and peat moss mix for all my newer T setups. Lately I've been getting a lot of the little green/yellow stuff in my tanks. And some mushrooms- two different kinds so far. So is it the peat moss or the coco-earth that is allowing the stuff to grow? I noticed it in one of my S'pore blue tanks first but now I've seen it spread to a few of the others. I've got regular garden soil in some of my older tanks and I haven't seen any of the stuff in those.

ive seen 2 types of mushrooms growing in coco/peat as well, i just change out the substrate when i see any of it. i think the spores come in on the stuff, adding water and some nutrients (boluses etc) makes it a perfect medium for the mushrooms to grow.

i also havnt seen it come up when using soil, but the soil for me was less then ideal.
