mediocre herp/dog walk

went to garland ranch today to tire out the little ones and roll some logs:

found a bunch of these (all sizes)

found a couple of these guys but i only caught this one

i think i got a little over zealous when i caught this guy as he dropped his tail when i grabbed him... no harm done though, he scampered off readily enough.

and some little ones

then we stopped to cool off

not really sure what this is but they were flying and crawling all over the place.

The last pic is a boxelder bug.   I had a LOT of them in my yard last year...but I haven't seen any this year.

I've been to that park! Very nice place between Carmel and Carmel Highlands. I didn't see any critters though in the middle of summer.

maybe you didn't look under enough stuff

i forgot to mention the bobcat that i spotted i didn't have enough time to take a pic but at least i saw it! (i called the dogs back before they spotted it. fortunately they're shorter than me,barely, so i saw it first)

I HATE boxelder bugs!

ah the bobcat would've escaped.... they're really good at that.

i was more worried about it doing a little cat damage to my little ones

edgar... what did they ever do to you? they didn't stink, sting or bite so what can you complain about? (i'm bringing a box to the meeting to dump down the back of your shirt
