Here's a strange one. My normally ravenous greenbottle blue, which is a female of about 4", has stopped eating as of a few days ago. It last molted around July 8, so only a month ago. Its abdomen looks pretty bulbous to me (see photo).
There is one more very strange thing it is doing: it has repeatedly webbed over its water dish - completely. I went to put water in the dish and it was like it was covered in plastic wrap - totally encased. I pulled off the covering with a chopstick, which seemed to really piss off the spider. Next day, it was covered again.
Does anyone have any clues here?? When I mentioned this to James Tuttle at the convention, he thought it might be carrying an infertile egg sack. Forgive my ignorance, but if that is the case, what happens now??? (Other than the fact that it won't be having any eggs hatch.)

Lony, you're such an engaging smart ass! But in the meantime, what happens if it drops an egg sac? What should I do?

SA is my middle name.
DId this one not just molt?
If so the egg sac would not be fertile. NO reason to worry!

if she drops a sac dont worry about it, she'll carry it around for a while and eventually eat it or dump it, id keep offering food though while she has it, might motivate her to let it go
