oh, i'm north of sacramento, but am most likely the only kraut here lol

@Uglykid2 thanks for the offer, i'm in linda/marysville tho. plus i have two kids i might want to bring (unless i can con somebody into watching them). i'm about 1 hour north from sac. would be great tho if i could get a ride from somebody since i have no transportation.

@baylee yeah, born and raised in germany. but my dad is from marysville, ca. he was stationed in germany when he met my mom.

bin ja in deutschland aufgewachen,, zur schule gegangen und nach amerika gegangen als ich 23 jahre alt war. (grew up in germany, went to school here, then went to america when i was 23 years old)
i only speak german when i call my sister in colorado.

Ich bin evenfalls in Deutschland aufgewachsen und zur Schule gegangen. (I also grew up in Gemany and attended school there.)

Ich bin auch mit 23 hier nach America gezogen. (I also moved to America when I was 23.)

Ich bin in Flensburg geboren aber auf der Insel Föhr aufgewachsen.
(I was born in Flensburg, but I grew up on the Island of Föhr.)

born and raised in schonungen, by schweinfurt. thats in unterfranken, 2 hours from frankfurt, 3 hours from muenchen, about 1 hour from bamberg, 30 - 45 minutes from wuerzburg. guess my town would be called a little hicktown, but we had smaller towns then mine around us. we had an elementry school and a volksschule, kindergarden and even a doctor and a dentist in our town.

I know what you mean. Föhr's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F%C3%B6hr) population counts is about 8647.
With lots of farms. The Island lives off the tourism. Not much going on during the winter months.
We lived in a village called Nieblum (http://www.nieblum-online.de/) population of about 672.

the school i went to in out town, had kids dropped of from 5 other towns. and later when i was working, i had a coworker, his town had 3 streets/roads, thats it.

There are just no places like that here in CA. I do miss Germany during the holidays.

i miss a few things, nicolaus on december 6th, fasching starting novmber 11th at 11 past 11, certain food (fleisch salat...), at least i can get sourdough bread here in marysville. eierliqoer...mmmmm

but then my sister in colorado and my brother in germany can send me goody packages :D
