help! emergency... DOA?

A B. smithi juvenile which arrived in the mail today seems in a virtual death curl; not entirely curled up, but totally unresponsive to any physical prodding.  She can be turned upside-down or on her side with no response.

I am going to try an ICU of a wet-toweled plastic sandwich dish and lid (what she came in) with half the container on my heating pad.  Can anyone suggest anything else?  I am very bummed out here.

Was there a heat pack in the package?  All you can do is the ICU thing and keep it warm.  Hope it snaps out of it.  Good luck.

No, there wasn't, and it came from Pennsylvania (Express Mail).  There was another smithi and three slings in the package which seem fine.

Frustrating.

I hope your T gets well Peter.
Don''t place the deli cup on top of the heat mat, but to the side of it, you want to make sure the T doesn't get cooked in there :p

Does it look like it had external injuries?
Were there moistened paper towels with her in the enclosure?

Have you contacted the seller yet?

Sorry for all the questions, but I hate to hear news like this, specially when you are expecting a beautiful animal and instead you get a poor DOA.

The container sat with about half on the heat pad all day, not getting very warm in the enclosure at all, and unfortunately I am considering her dead.  She hasn't moved at all.

Yes, there was a moist towel burrow in the "Glad" container she came in.  There is a slight discoloration on the towel where her abdomen was resting, but it could just be residual dirt.  However, I suppose it is possible she took a hit somehow; in any case, it is such a bummer.  The seller has been cool about it, and also disappointed, of course.
