HelloHello, all. My name is Justin. I'm new to the forums and thought I'd introduce myself.
I'm 22 and I live and work in San Francisco. I attended the sling fling in Concord on the 25th where I purchased a little brachypelma smithi from Fred. (It's about a year old and 2" in size, which I guess would make it a juvenile?)
Before moving to San Francisco in 2007 I lived in Florida and had a grammostola rosea named "Shelob" for around 6 years. I was nervous about shipping her out here and not knowing what else to do, I brought her back to the exotic pet store where I'd purchased her. They were more than happy to take her for me and assured me they'd find her a nice home.
So that's about it. I've owned 1 tarantula before and now own 1. Though I'm highly considering an avicularia (unsure of species, as of yet) as my next purchase.
My smithi seems to be doing quite well. I fed it 3 small crickets last Sunday and it devoured them! I figure I'll try 3 crickets a week for a bit and see how that goes. It molted about 2 weeks before I got it so I shouldn't have to worry about that for a bit.
Alright, guess that's about it. That's my super long introduction. Nice to meet you all. I'll be sure to post pictures later.
