Hello from Roseville.

Hello everyone, My name is Stew and I was a long time BA resident.  Lived in SF for a number of years, then Daly City, then San Jose and now I'm here in Roseville.  Been keeping Tarantulas for a few years.  Hope to one day meet some of you guys in person.
mklock

Welcome Stew  :)
sntcruzan

Come to our meeting January 17th in Concord
EdgarOrtega

Welcome to the group, Stew! :D We hope to see you at the meeting in January. We're getting quite the group from the Sac area.

Looks like you're into archery. I used to that, and I'd like to get back into it. Target archery, though.

What T's have you got?

Is this the same place as where you had an event in Oct?
EdgarOrtega

Yes it is. Did you see that on the news story?

Was looking around to try and find the address and came across an old ad for the Oct event.
EdgarOrtega

Here's the video of the story they did at the meeting last October.

Thanks for the video.  Actually I did see that clip.  It was posted on Arachnoboards by Ken's wife a few days ago.  Did not realize it was THAT event.

Thanks for the welcome.  Mike(mklock) and I have been talking about attending the event.  Only problem is my GF is planning a trip and I might be out of town during that time.  But if the trip is postponed or canceled I might be able to make it.

lol.  I stopped taking pics of my T's a long time ago.  I was thinking of taking some  now that I've built up my collection again but I need to find my card reader first and my old digital camera(hope the batteries haven't leaked out in it).  Had to put a lot of stuff away because of my dog- kept chewing everything within reach!  I know I'll be able to take a pic of my A. brocklehursti sling- that's the only terrestrial sling I have that has not bothered to dig a burrow.  It just sits there out in the open all day long which is really strange.  Anyway, I'll do my best to take some pics but they aren't going to be very good(I seldom take good pics!)

Edgar you are a nut!  Very funny video.  Thanks for the link.

Well it's been a good week

I got to meet Ken when I went over to his place to pick up a few T's.  The sub-adult female H. schmidti I ordered 2 wks ago finally arrived yesterday.  Found my card reader so now I can upload some crappy pics.  My microscope finally arrived yesterday(been wanting one since I was a kid!) My A. versicolor just molted yesterday.  My LP molted some time last week and I just saw it yesterday- I'm guessing it is at least 6" or more.  And my H. gigas finally dug its way out of the burrow- been hiding in it for over a month and a half!  Well here are some pics I took, my apologies for the quality.  Can't seem to hold the darn thing steady and I'm just too lazy to use a tripod.

P. murinus that I got from Ken 2 days ago

My T-room.  Please excuse the mess.  The heat lamps are leftovers from when I had snakes and tortoises.  They are not in use except for the one that I'm using to heat my B.dubia colony.

For those of you wondering what that big black tub is- that's my brother's rubbermaid tub taking up most of the space in the spare garage(T-room).  He's got 5 goldfish in it and the tub holds close to 300 gallons(if I am not mistaken)

The acrylic tank I built on new year's eve.  Not bad if I do say so myself, considering it is my first go at it.

Thanks!  They are not hard to do.  Perhaps when I'm done making ten more of these I will be confident enough to start making these for others! You'll have to drill your own ventilation holes though.  I suck at drilling- don't have the patience to line up and space them evenly!

ETA:  I also noticed with the substrate in the tank there is some bowing in the side pieces so I need to make some modifications to the design to work out these issues.
