G.Rosea gray phase? The tarantula keepers guide mentions the gray phase but doesn't go into detail. Anyone know about this?

I reckon that's just your standard greyish/brownish G. rosea, such as I have:

It is very confusing how this species seems to be named, renamed, misnamed, etc.

The name is very confusing. In thebook it hadshown apicture of a g rosea in a threat position saying "in the gray phase if theydo this watch out" didn't know if they get skiddish or even aggresive in this phase

Well, my "docile" G. rosea does not enjoy me putting my hand in its cage, barely tolerates being held, kicked hairs all over me and gave me a rash for a week, and pretty much assumed the threat position when I lowered a silver spoon into the enclosure! It really did not like that spoon. Black chopstick OK, silver spoon not OK. Very weird.
