Could I have possibly forgotten...

Hubby and I were gone for most of our Sunday, visiting a high school buddy of his. We returned home at around 10:15pm and as usual I had to get on the PC to check e-mails and Forum news.

At about 12:30 pm I logged off and started to get ready for bed.
I always check on the Mountain Lion's food and water to make sure they are set for the night. As I poured kibbles into their dish I looked over to their water fountain… and all that came out of my mouth was…

O.M.G... O.M.G… O.M.G…and a few other words which I can not repeat here!

My heart almost stopped, followed by a shooting hot rush going through my body and an immediate break out in sweat…

I then shouted: “Honey do not let the Kitten come close to the water!”

Hubby of course was curious why I had panicked all of a sudden, while feeding our beloved Mountain Lions, so he came over to see what was going on!
I told him to keep the Kittens away from the food and water. Hubby became more curious and asked what the problem was and questioned if we had ants again? I recall wishing that it had been the case!

I told him not to make any sudden moves and pointed to the water fountain.

All he said was: "WOOOOWWW, what is that? O.M.G.... how did that one get out? Is this one of yours?"

I gave hubby a puzzled look... and was still trying to figure out how this could have happened?

Why is she not in her enclosure???
How did she get there and how long has she been out?
Did the kittens mess with her?
Could I have possibly forgotten to put her screen top back on?
That is impossible???

I told hubby to stay there and watch the kittens. I left to fetch a container quick to help capture the escapee.

After the little devil was securely moved into the temporary Tupperware, I headed for the bedroom, followed by hubby and two curious kittens, still a shocked look on my face.

When I got to the bedroom I saw that her screen top was resting on my P. irminia’s enclosure. Hubby immediately ask how did that happen? I still could not really speak and told him I want to put her back first.

She was a real trooper, walked right back into her home like nothing had happened!

I recalled the last time I had fed all T’s was on Friday night, I must have left the screen top open.
OH yeah! I remembered hubby had ask me a question while feeding and I had gone to the kitchen to answer him, I must have forgotten to go back to close it. She was the last one I had fed that night!

I only told hubby that I had left the screen top open my mistake, but not how long it had been open.

I did some investigation to figure out where she had been, so I got down on my knees to see if I was able to trace her path. She had done some heavy webbing on the floor and seemed to have spend lots of time on two runners in the bedroom. There was web all over the place!

I believe he must have gotten out on Sunday, because I remember having seen her in her cage on Sunday morning.

I am not the most alert person in the morning,   which explains why I had missed that her screen top was gone.

I also recall I meant to add water to her dish Friday night, but had forgotten!

Gosh, what a shocker!

Hubby did joke about it and said that I was more disturbed by the escapee then he actually was. He was surprisingly calm compared to me.
Even tonight he joked if any other Tarantulas had gotten out…

I have never handled sudden surprise very well! I hate to be spooked or to be confronted with the unexpected. I scares the living willies out of me! I do however enjoy a good scare like Halloween or a good spooky movie, which I can prepare for.

I guess Halloween came early this year!

Take a guess which one of my T’s got out

What I am curious about is: what was the distance covered between the enclosure and where it was found?

Based on hubby's reaction, my guess would be a docile T like a brachy or grammy.  Hmmm, I go with a grammy.  I say one of your G. pulchra's!
llamamama

Your female albopilosum.
BayLee

No OBT

The screen top was off the top, she did not move it. I had simply forgotten to put it back.

Hubby would never know the difference, but  you are right Stew, it was a grammy, but not one of my pulchra's.

And no albopilosum
darth skippy

pulchripes? rosea?

WHAT WAS IT?
llamamama

Chaco

Yes, Josh you got it. It was my G. rosea  BayLee, who had escaped.

Out of all the T’s I would have never expected her to be the one taking a stroll.

Because you guessed right, you deserve a reward!  If you are coming to the show stop by the table, if not I will see you at the meeting.

no show for me but you know i'll visit you at the meeting
