"Wings In the Night" A Celebration of Sonoma Bats

"Wings In the Night"  A Celebration of Sonoma Bats

Thursday Lecture, May 7, 2009 - 7:30-8:45PM ( SCC - Andrews Hall)

Patricia Winters, President of the California Bat Conservation Fund
Over the last 20 years, approximately 80 percent of the country's bat population has been lost. Communities have begun to understand that encouraging bat populations can be a viable alternative to many toxic pesticides. Sonoma's bat population is a vital asset on many levels. This program is dedicated to learning about the preservation, conservationist and rehabilitation of bats. JOIN US! ($5 donation)

Who's going to this? Bats are cool. I remember the first one I found I'd taken it away from a cat that had gotten a hold of it. I fixed it up and let it go. They are such unique animals.

I also like the new Batman movies.
llamamama

Me and mine are going, if we can.
EdgarOrtega

I'm all over this like a runway model on a bottle of ipecac syrup.
Arachnocat

LOL! Well I'm goin too! So I'll see yall's there!
UglyKid2

It only seems fitting that SF Bats should like bats. I've always loved them .
BayLee

Jep count me in folks.
EdgarOrtega

I think BATS just love animals in general. lol Especially the weird ones. haha

I'm sure we'll get some bat edumacacation, tonight. I'll bring my big foam finger.
llamamama

That was SOOOO COOL!

Rachel, did you get some good pics?  I'm so bummed I didn't have a decent camera with me!

Thanks John, for letting us know about it!
Arachnocat

I only got a few pics, most of them are blurry though. She didn't have them out long enough at the end to get better photos. Oh well. It was really neat. I learned a lot about bats.

That lecture was great until that vampire bat latched itself into my neck and started screaming. Gosh that was sure super weird!

lol

That was nice, actually. We've gotta do something like this with T's. :)

Sheesh!  You want me to do MORE?  I don't have a power point presentation, but I've got more live animals! lol
BayLee

That sure was a nice presentation. I learned a lot.
They are so cute and the noise they make.
We need one as mascot.

Great shots Rachel.
