I was shocked to look inside my P. irminia's enclosure today and see two leg joints lying on the dirt.  I can't tell which leg came off because he's a secretive beast, and I've since fed him a large cricket which he jumped on.

But should I be worried???  I have no idea how this happened; there was no prey for it to tussle with, or sharp edges, or anything.  It may be a little cramped in its TAP Plastics cube as it's a pretty big spider, and it makes a hell of a racket when it runs around in there.  Could it have knocked a leg off???  There's no way I can glue it on - not with this species.

i wouldn't worry at all. are you sure it was a leg and not part of an old molt?

i walked in the T room the other day and was speechless at the carnage i saw on the floor until i realized that my housemates cat had savaged a G rosea molt that i was saving for a school donation.

It hasn't molted in my care, so no.

Okay, I won't worry, but what the hell could have happened?!?

i suppose it could have removed a leg it found unsatisfactory... other than that i wouldn't care to guess without having seen the scene of the crime myself

If you see no leakage s/he should be fine.
